Mumbai : On the occasion of International Day of Disabled Persons, a sports day was organized by Nav Divyang Foundation in Kandivali, Mumbai in which hundreds of disabled children participated. In this Sports Day program, disabled children took part in more than a dozen sports. On this occasion, Chief Minister's Medical Room Head Mangesh Chivate was present. Maharashtra Government's Women and Child Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha in his video message has announced to provide all possible help to disabled children. Let us tell you that today Maharashtra has become the first state in the country which has decided to create a Ministry for Persons with Disabilities. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced the creation of Ministry of Disability at a program in Mumbai.



Hundreds of disabled children participated in this program organized by Nav Divyang Foundation at Babasaheb Ambedkar Udyan in Kandivali, Mumbai. On this occasion, disabled children also appeared enthusiastic and participated in all the games. Most of the disabled children were seen to be suffering from autism, while some children participated in sports while being on wheel chairs.



Head of the Chief Minister's Medical Cell, Mangesh Chivate said that the Maharashtra government has today announced the creation of a Ministry for Disability, through which steps will be taken to improve the education of disabled children and their lives. Mangesh Chivate said that the society should also come forward now so that such children can get an equal share in the society. Mangesh Chivate assured the people present at the program that the Maharashtra government will stand with the disabled children and provide them all possible help.



Sanjay Mutha, Chief Trustee of Nav Divyang Foundation, says that the cases of disabled children have increased a lot in recent times. Due to which neither these children are able to get admission in normal schools nor do such children get any special recognition in the society. Mutha says that through Nav Divyang Foundation, we are not only teaching such children about everyday needs but are also helping them to stand on their feet. We request the Maharashtra government to take necessary steps to take care of such children. Foundation trustees Gopal Bhagwat, Sagar Kamble, Akshata Bhagwat and Neelima Mutha were also present on this occasion.



Every year on 3 December, Disabled Day is celebrated all over the world. A few days ago, in view of the problems of disabled children, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had announced the formation of a Ministry for Disability in Maharashtra, so that the rights of disabled children can be fought for more strongly. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced the Ministry of Disability in Maharashtra on Saturday and said that the Maharashtra government will provide every disabled person the rights he needs.
